Successful recertification by the classification society ABS
Successful completion for the manufacturer approval by the certification company ABS for our sites in Laubach and Stadtallendorf. The manufacturer approval contains rules and regulations for ships and mobile offshore units in international waters.
ABS is the abbreviation for: American Bureau of Shipping
Headquartered in Houston, Texas, and founded in 1862,ABS is one of the world's leading classification societies for ships, oil platforms and other maritime structures and their components at more than 400 locations in more than 100 countries.
The certificates for the main site in Stadtallendorf and secondary site in Laubach had to be renewed, as their validity expires in 2021.
An inspection of the facilities and the associated quality procedures took place on 04.08.2021. The facilities are considered suitable for the production of cast iron components for marine applications. In compliance with ABS approval letter, ABS rules, designated standards and ABS approved drawings.
The approval is valid until 2026, subject to compliance with relevant ABS rules, as well as survey requirements and annual confirmation by an ABS representative.
These rules include safety, reliability and environmental regulations that ships and mobile offshore units must comply with in international waters.
